Ogun Gov, Daniel Feud Over Demolition Notice Festers

Former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has accused the incumbent Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, of serving politically motivated demolition notices on three properties in Sagamu. Daniel claimed the action was an attempt to instigate a political crisis in the state.

He argued that the current administration lacked the moral right to issue such notices on private properties. In response, Governor Abiodun's administration denied the allegations, stating that the notices were part of an urban renewal initiative aimed at affordable housing.

Daniel's camp, including former commissioners and building specialists, refuted the claims and accused Abiodun of engaging in political vendetta. The feud between the two politicians has escalated, with implications for the upcoming 2027 elections.

The state government emphasized that the notices were issued in line with statutory functions for urban renewal and building permit audits.
