Court bars Ogun Govt from demolishing Gbenga Daniel’s residence, hotel

The court has issued an ex parte order preventing the Ogun State Government from demolishing the residence and hotel of former Governor Gbenga Daniel. The order followed an urgent affidavit filed by the claimant, Daniel's wife, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, through their lawyer, Kotoye SAN.

The motion sought to restrain Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Attorney General of Ogun State, and other relevant authorities from tampering with the properties located in Sagamu. The properties include the Asoludero Court and Sagamu Conference Hotel.

The court granted an interim order and adjourned the case to August 19, 2025, for further hearing. The state government had served a quit notice for the demolition, which Daniel described as political persecution.

In response, Governor Abiodun stated that the notice was part of a statutory land audit.
