Ogun Man Stabbed to Death at Birthday Party Argument

Kunl Akinlo, aged 36, was fatally stabbed during a birthday party argument in the Ado Odo Ota Local Government area of Ogun State on Saturday, June 5, 2026, around 2 AM. The altercation began when Damilola Fagbemi, aged 31, allegedly attempted to attack the bar owner, prompting Akinlo to intervene.

Witnesses reported that Akinlo tried to calm the situation but was later overpowered by Fagbemi, who broke a bottle and stabbed him. Akinlo sustained a deep injury to his hand and attempted to tie it with a piece of cloth while waiting for a motorcycle to take him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching medical assistance. The Ogun State Police Command, led by spokesperson Babaseyi Oluseyi, confirmed Akinlo's death and stated that efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect are ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns within the community, particularly regarding cult-related violence.
