Ogun State Launches New International Airport

On Saturday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officiated the commissioning of Ogun State's new international airport, a pivotal development in the state's industrial transformation. This airport is strategically located to enhance Ogun's economic potential by attracting manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and logistics companies.

It aims to create approximately 25,000 jobs and streamline supply chains, directly addressing Nigeria's historical challenges with spoilage and perishables due to poor logistics. The airport will serve as a vital exit point for agricultural products from the southwest and north-central regions, alleviating congestion at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

President Tinubu highlighted the federal government's commitment to Ogun State's development, commending Governor Dapo Abiodun for his vision and initiatives, including the introduction of 1,000 electric bikes for modern transportation. The event was attended by notable figures, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, underscoring the significance of this landmark project in transforming Ogun State into a premier logistics and manufacturing hub in West Africa.
