Tinubu Commissions Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport

On a weekend in October 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially commissioned the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport and two newly acquired aircraft in Iperu, Ogun State. This initiative is part of the Ogun State government's strategy to create a significant cargo hub that serves as an alternative to Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

During the commissioning, President Tinubu emphasized the administration's policies aimed at empowering sub-national governments and ensuring economic independence. He highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in fostering a prosperous future for Nigeria.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun praised the federal government's efforts in improving the economy and infrastructure, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio reiterated the need for unity in legislative processes to achieve national development. The event also saw the commissioning of several projects, including a 30MW independent power plant and various road reconstructions, showcasing a commitment to enhancing security and agricultural advancements in the region.
