Ogun State Targets Total Eradication of Exam Malpractice

Abayomi Arigbabu, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, has pledged to eradicate examination malpractice in both public and private schools across the state. During a meeting with stakeholders at Lisabi Grammar School in Idi Aba, Abeokuta, he assured that the government is committed to a 100% elimination of loopholes that facilitate such malpractice.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Education will not hesitate to sanction any individual or school found guilty of examination malpractice. Arigbabu highlighted the need for collaboration with examination bodies, particularly the West African Examination Council, to improve the examination process.

He urged stakeholders to ensure that Ogun State maintains a good reputation in education. The Commissioner commended the federal government for its directive to prevent students from being admitted into Senior Secondary School (SSS3) classes if they are involved in malpractice.

He called on teachers and school owners to uphold integrity in the education system, as the state has made significant progress in addressing examination malpractice.
