NUPENG Threatens Strike Resumption Over Dangote Refinery Dispute

Oil workers from the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) are threatening to resume their strike after suspending it for 48 hours. The union leaders, Williams Akporeha and Afolabi Olawale, accused the management of Dangote Refinery of reneging on agreements reached.

This comes after the refinery allegedly breached the resolution by removing union stickers from trucks, despite a truce brokered by the federal government. The union hinted at a potential strike resumption due to the alleged breach.

The meeting, attended by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Minister of Finance, aimed to address the situation.
