Ojukwu University Dismisses Five Staff for Misconduct

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, located in Igbariam, Anambra State, has dismissed five staff members for gross misconduct. The decision was made during the 122nd meeting of the university's governing council held on Friday.

The dismissed individuals include Prof. C.C.

Nwabachili, the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Prof. Chike Osegbu from the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Additionally, Dr. H.

Iheukwumer and Mr. Emeka Nwabunnia from the Department of Microbiology in the Faculty of Natural Sciences were also dismissed.

The misconduct cited includes sexual abuse, harassment, intimidation, extortion, and ethical violations. Mr.

Ifeoma Kakulu, the Principal Assistant Registrar in the Examinations Office of the Faculty of Law, was also dismissed for similar offenses. The university's council reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity, warning that actions tarnishing the university's reputation would face severe consequences.
