OK Movement Declares Independence from NDC Leadership

The OK Movement, represented by National Director-General Hon. John Ozyl Ughulu, has publicly rejected the characterization of the organization as a support group for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). This statement follows remarks by NDC National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson, who labeled the OK Movement's activities as “unheard of” and “nonsensical.” Dickson emphasized that support groups should not create competing structures within political parties.

In response, Ughulu stated that the OK Movement would not allow its identity to be redefined or its organizational structure to be subordinated to the NDC. He acknowledged that while the Obidient Movement is a support movement, it is crucial to distinguish the status of the OK Movement, especially as it has formed a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council to support NDC's presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The NDC has distanced itself from this council, asserting that its formation did not originate from the party.
