N100m Mental Health Facility Launched in Lagos

Okechukwu Uche-Ukah was instrumental in the launch of a N100 million state-of-the-art mental health center in Lagos, unveiled during the installation ceremony of Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezi as the 43rd District Governor of Rotary International District 9110. Ejezi emphasized the urgent need for mental health services, particularly in the wake of post-pandemic challenges, and framed the center as a lifeline for addressing the silent crisis of mental health neglect and stigma.

Uche-Ukah, as the chairman of the installation planning committee and a past assistant governor, ensured the event transcended mere ceremony, becoming a platform for advocacy and fundraising. The center is designed to provide early intervention, treatment access, and professional support, aiming to reduce stigma and establish a sustainable healthcare legacy in Lagos State.

The event gathered notable figures, including former health ministers and civic leaders, underscoring the collective commitment to mental health initiatives as a moral imperative.
