Okonjo-Iweala Urges African Nations to Back  AFTCEE for Economic Growth

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has called on African nations to support the Africa Tourism Creative Economy Expo (AFTCEE) for economic growth.

The event is set to take place in November in Abuja and aims to leverage Africa's cultural and touristic assets for accelerated trade and economic development. Okonjo-Iweala, the first woman and African to lead the WTO, emphasized the importance of integrating the creative economy into global and regional supply chains.

She expressed gratitude for the invitation to speak at the event, despite prior commitments at the G20 Leaders Summit. The former Nigerian Coordinating Minister for the Economy wished the organizers success and looked forward to engaging in future AFTCEE events, highlighting the potential for boosting trade, tourism, and cultural exchange in Africa.
