Okpebholo Nominates New Edo SUBEB Chairman in 21 Months

Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has nominated Hon. Ayewoh Ambrose Oyakhilome as the executive chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

This nomination makes Oyakhilome the fourth individual to hold this position since the current administration took office. The announcement was made by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.

This appointment comes less than two years into the administration, following the tenure of three previous chairmen since November 2024. Ayewoh Ambrose Oyakhilome previously served as the executive chairman of the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA), where he was involved in enhancing rural connectivity and infrastructure.

The Edo State government expressed confidence that his experience and commitment would positively impact educational policies and initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes across the state. Oyakhilome's nomination will be sent to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
