Okpebholo Condemns Violence Against ADC Members in Edo

Governor Mondai Okpebholo of Edo State issued a firm condemnation of the recent assault on members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that internal party disputes have escalated excessively. In a statement released on Tuesday, he expressed sympathy for the affected party members and noted regret over individuals allegedly exploiting Edo State's peaceful environment to incite violence.

The governor emphasized the importance of peace and love among citizens, categorically condemning the involvement of thugs and miscreants in political activities. He believes the attacks aim to discredit Edo State and undermine its reputation as a peaceful region in Nigeria.

Okpebholo reaffirmed that his administration will not tolerate political blackmail and will focus on engaging the populace to earn public trust. He urged the police and security agencies to remain vigilant and monitor political gatherings to prevent escalation.

The governor called for calm among Edo residents and warned political parties to resolve internal disputes without resorting to violence.
