Edo State Launches 100MW Power Plant and LNG Facility

On the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony, Edo State Governor Mondi Okpebholo inaugurated a 100 megawatt power generation plant and a 300 metric ton per day liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility located at Taihu Industrial Park in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area. Governor Okpebholo emphasized that this project is a crucial part of his administration's efforts to foster a friendly ecosystem for manufacturing, job creation, and sustainable economic growth in Edo State.

He described the project as a major milestone in the state's journey towards industrial growth and energy security. The governor assured investors of the state's commitment to providing a conducive environment for business, highlighting the importance of reliable power supply for industrial development.

Edo State Commissioner for Power, Paul Usebor, noted that the power plant would strengthen electricity supply within the state and beyond. The project is expected to create jobs, boost skill development, and stimulate infrastructure growth in the area.
