Tinubu Launches 60MW Gas Turbine Plant in Bayelsa

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated a 60-megawatt gas turbine plant located in Elebele, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. This project is part of the independent power initiative implemented by the administration of Governor Douye Diri.

During the inauguration, Tinubu emphasized the importance of reliable electricity supply for the growth and development of Nigeria, assuring that the federal government would support the state's efforts in achieving this goal. He commended Governor Diri for his commitment to translating governance into tangible development that enhances the quality of life for the people of Bayelsa.

The event also included discussions on the construction of the 630-meter Angiama-Oporoma Bridge and the 2.9 km dual carriageway in Yenagoa, highlighting the administration's focus on infrastructure development. Tinubu's visit was described as a significant recognition of the Bayelsa people's contributions and the administration's policies aimed at reforming various sectors, particularly in power.
