Edo State Invests N2bn in University Infrastructure

On Tuesday, Governor Senator Mondai Okpebholo of Edo State announced a N2 billion grant aimed at supporting infrastructure development at Edo University Iyamho. This investment is part of a broader initiative to reform education in the state.

The governor revealed that the monthly subvention for the university will increase from N100 million to N250 million, enhancing its operational capacity and improving learning conditions. During the announcement, Okpebholo emphasized the state government's commitment to promoting educational development and improving healthcare delivery within tertiary institutions.

He acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders, including parents and sponsors, and highlighted the architectural design by Vice Chancellor Prof. Adetimirin.

The governor called on corporate organizations and individuals to partner with the government to drive development, stating that the government alone cannot meet societal needs.
