ADC's Kola Ologbondiyan Claims Venue Cancellations Due to Pressure

Kola Ologbondiyan, the chairman of the media public subcommittee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has alleged that government pressure caused multiple cancellations of their convention venue bookings. The party faced significant challenges in finalizing a location, with the Rainbow Event Center being the latest venue to withdraw permission shortly before midnight.

Ologbondiyan reported that the owner of the venue was instructed to retract permission due to external pressures. Despite these setbacks, the ADC is determined to proceed with their convention, maintaining that they have fulfilled their contractual obligations to the venue.

Ologbondiyan dismissed concerns regarding legal implications, asserting that the party is compliant with electoral requirements and has issued the necessary 21-day notice to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He emphasized that there are no legal barriers to holding the convention and downplayed internal disputes within the party, expressing confidence in the ADC's future leadership and electoral strategy.
