Dr. Ibrahim Oloriegbe, a former senator representing Kwara Central, officially declared his intention to run for the governorship of Kwara State in the 2027 elections on a platform of the All Progressives Congress. His announcement was made on Friday during an address to stakeholders and party loyalists in Ilorin, following extensive consultations. Oloriegbe emphasized that his decision to enter the race is driven by a strong sense of duty to serve the people of Kwara, rather than personal interests. He highlighted the need for experienced leadership to guide the state towards development, likening Kwara's condition to that of a recovering patient requiring sustained structural interventions. Oloriegbe unveiled a five-point agenda centered on security, economic productivity, healthcare, fair governance, and a promise of disciplined, result-driven leadership. He pledged to empower youth and women, aiming to translate rhetoric into tangible actions. Oloriegbe served in the 9th National Assembly from 2019 to 2023.
