Olubadan of Ibadan Urges Oyo Indigenes to Join Police

On Tuesday, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, called on eligible indigenes of Oyo State to join the police force during the ongoing recruitment exercise for 50,000 police constables. This appeal was made during a meeting with Tund Lakanu, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, and the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, where Ladoja highlighted the critical role of law enforcement in maintaining societal order.

He urged traditional rulers and community leaders to mobilize support and spread information about the recruitment across the state. Ladoja's advisory council, which includes notable figures such as Otun Balogun and Ajiroba, was present at the meeting.

The Olubadan emphasized the need for consistent media involvement to reach grassroots communities and noted the importance of establishing a state police force in Nigeria to enhance security for residents.
