Oluremi Tinubu Unveils N500m Relief for Calabar Fire Victims

On Friday, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu announced a N500 million presidential relief package for 18 business owners impacted by the August 22 fire at the SPAR shopping mall in Calabar, Cross River State. During the launch of the South-South zonal phase of the National Community Food Bank Programme, she stated that President Bola Tinubu approved N25 million for each affected business owner, totaling N450 million, to assist in their recovery from the fire's financial losses.

Oluremi Tinubu expressed President Tinubu's condolences to the government and people of Cross River for the unfortunate incident that devastated numerous businesses and livelihoods. Additionally, she announced an extra N50 million for women's groups, which was presented to Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, the wife of the Cross River State Governor, along with N15 million given to women who welcomed her to the state.

The relief package aims to provide immediate support to the affected entrepreneurs and facilitate their recovery.
