Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates 14 Million Birth Registrations

Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, praised the registration of 14 million births in Nigeria over the past two years, describing it as a major milestone in protecting the identity rights of every child. She made these remarks via a post on X, following a briefing from UNICEF Nigeria's Wafaa Abdelatef about the progress made in birth registration across the country.

This achievement reflects a collective commitment to safeguarding children's rights. Tinubu expressed appreciation for the development partners and stakeholders from the 36 states who have dedicated their efforts to advancing birth registration and child welfare initiatives nationwide.

Additionally, she commended the stakeholders for their significant strides in combating diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, cervical cancer, syphilis, hepatitis B, and female genital mutilation. She urged for continued collaboration to sustain these actions and expressed optimism that Nigeria can meet global health targets ahead of schedule, emphasizing the importance of collective determination in eliminating diseases by the 2030 global target.
