Oluremi Tinubu Commends Wike for Abuja City Gate Revamp

On Monday, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his successful transformation of Abuja's City Gate into a significant recreational landmark. During a ceremony at the Aso Rock Villa, she presented Certificates of Commendation to Wike and Dr Mariya Bunkure, the Minister of State for the FCT, recognizing their environmental efforts.

Tinubu expressed disappointment that no state government submitted entries for the N50m prize category of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Green Nigeria Challenge, which encourages youth to convert abandoned spaces into green parks. She urged state governors' wives to mobilize young people into environmental clubs.

Tinubu praised the remodelled City Gate as a prime example of what neglected public areas can become and called for increased youth engagement in environmental stewardship. Wike credited Tinubu for inspiring the City Gate transformation, noting her observations from foreign trips.
