Oluremi Tinubu Launches ICT Centre at Kwara University

On September 16, 2026, Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, inaugurated a TETFund/Renewed Hope Initiative-backed ICT Experience Centre at Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete. This centre is part of a pilot phase involving six tertiary institutions across Nigeria's geopolitical zones.

Represented by Nana Shettima, the wife of the vice president, Tinubu emphasized the project as a demonstration of the federal government's commitment to education, digital inclusion, and graduate employability. The facility includes an ICT laboratory, interactive digital display, conference facilities, and exhibition spaces, designed to foster learning and innovation.

Arc. Sonny Echono, the executive secretary of TETFund, noted that the centres aim to enhance employability through practical training in digital skills.

Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, vice chancellor of KWASU, described the centre as an investment in human capital and the future of Nigeria, providing students with opportunities to develop practical digital skills.
