Oluwadamilare Dauda Wins Prestigious French Science Award for Research on River Blindness

Oluwadamilare Dauda, a PhD student at Osun State University, UNIOSUN, has been honored with the Young Scientist Award from the National Veterinary School in Toulouse, France, for his groundbreaking research on river blindness, also known as onchocerciasis, in Nigeria. The French Embassy in Nigeria announced the prestigious award, recognizing Dauda's significant contributions to infectious disease control and entomological research.

Dauda's work focuses on the transmission of blackfly-borne diseases in Nigeria, particularly malaria and neglected tropical diseases. The award not only celebrates his promising research but also provides him with the opportunity to attend a summer course in Toulouse, furthering his expertise in disease vectors.
