General Olufemi Oluyede Receives ECOMOG Hero Award

The UK-based Nigerian organization, Citizen Advance Network Inc, has conferred the ECOMOG Hero Award on General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, in recognition of his outstanding service during the Sierra Leone Civil War. The award was presented during a breakfast meeting convened by Emeka Nwankpa, highlighting Oluyede's role in restoring peace in West Africa.

Sierra Leone's President, Julius Maada Bio, also honored Oluyede with the country's highest national honor, the Grand Command Order of Rokel, for his gallantry and loyalty. The award is viewed as a tonic for Nigeria's ongoing war against terrorism, emphasizing the need for unity among the armed forces and security agencies.
