Violence Erupts at Ondo APC Ward Congress, Injuries Reported

On Wednesday, violence broke out during an APC ward congress in Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State, leading to the reported killing of at least two individuals and several injuries. The chaos was attributed to hoodlums who allegedly attacked party members, disrupting the proceedings and causing damage, including burning vehicles.

The state APC chairman, Adetimehin, confirmed that his brother, Raphael Adetimehin, was attacked, shot, and macheted by suspected political thugs who mistakenly believed he was the chairman. This incident underscores the rising tensions within the Ondo State chapter of the APC as the party approaches its internal restructuring process scheduled for Tuesday.

The attack occurred shortly after a stakeholder meeting was disrupted at the party's secretariat in Akure, forcing an abrupt end to the proceedings.
