Violence Claims Two Lives at APC Ward Congress in Ondo

On Wednesday, violence erupted during the APC ward congress in Idanr, Ondo State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others. The incidents occurred at the Odod Idanr headquarters, where hoodlums disrupted the congress proceedings.

Raphael Adetimehin, the state caretaker chairman's younger brother, was attacked, suffering machete wounds, as assailants mistook him for his brother. Reports indicate that the attackers were allegedly sponsored by former House of Representatives member Tajudeen Adefisoy, with the intention of destabilizing the party's leadership.

The violence followed a previous incident at the APC secretariat in Akure, where party leaders were assaulted. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the outbreak of violence and dispatched a team to restore order and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attacks.

The situation remains tense as the community grapples with the aftermath of the violence during the congress.
