Ondo APC Elders Urge Governor to Boost 2027 Election Prep

Elders from the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the APC Elders Forum, have expressed dissatisfaction with the preparations for the 2027 general elections, urging Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to demonstrate greater commitment. During an event in Akure on Wednesday, organized by Minister of Interior Dr.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Chairman of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mandate Elders Forum, Mr. Demola Ijabiyi, highlighted the ineffective implementation of the national political strategy for victory in Ondo State.

Ijabiyi emphasized that the responsibility for mobilizing support lies with the governor and the National Assembly candidates, particularly the three ministers from Ondo State. He criticized the governor's efforts as largely ineffective, noting that support groups launched have quickly fizzled out.

The elders also acknowledged internal discontent regarding the failure to secure National Assembly tickets and called for unity among party members to focus on mobilization and grassroots engagement.
