Akinjo Calls for Reconciliation in Ondo APC Leadership

Akinjo, a former member of the House of Representatives, has expressed concerns regarding the state of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State. He acknowledges the strong leadership of President Bola Tinubu at the national level, citing his political dexterity and inclusiveness.

However, Akinjo criticizes the governor of Ondo State, who leads the party at the state level, for failing to replicate these qualities. He emphasizes that the governor should be accessible and fair to all stakeholders, rather than favoring specific factions.

Akinjo notes complaints from party members about inadequate consultation and disregard for established party structures, particularly following recent party primaries. He describes the current political situation in Ondo State as a "political catastrophe," indicating that the governor has not demonstrated the necessary competence to unite party interests.

Akinjo believes that for the APC to remain strong and achieve electoral success in 2027, all stakeholders must feel included and recognized.
