Ondo Bishop Urges Governor to Enhance Security Measures

Bishop Jude Arogundade of the Ondo Diocese called on Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to implement effective strategies to address the increasing incidents of kidnapping and insecurity in the state. During a mass commemorating Palm Sunday at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Akure, Arogundade expressed concern over the alarming rate of kidnappings, referencing a recent incident where individuals were abducted by hoodlums near a health center in the Ijebu area of Akure.

The victims were reportedly abandoned in the bush along the Ondo-Akure expressway after a ransom was transferred to the kidnappers' bank account. Arogundade emphasized the need for both federal and state governments to take proactive measures to protect the lives and properties of the people, highlighting the gradual infiltration of bandits into the state capital.

He stressed that significant actions are required to ensure the safety of residents.
