Ondo Police Restrict Movement for June 20 By-Election

The Ondo State Police Command, led by Commissioner Felix Ohagwu, has implemented a restriction on vehicular movement in the Ondo South Senatorial District from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on June 20, 2026. This measure aims to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and credible electoral process during the upcoming by-election.

The police will deploy personnel strategically across the district to safeguard polling units, collation centers, and vulnerable locations. The public, particularly residents of the Ondo South Senatorial District, has been informed that only accredited officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), election observers, accredited journalists, and authorized emergency services will be allowed to operate within the affected area during this period.

The police have warned against unauthorized movements that could disrupt the electoral process and have committed to maintaining surveillance to prevent any unauthorized activities. Any individual found violating electoral laws or engaging in activities that could breach peace will be arrested and prosecuted.
