Ondo State Certifies 500 Artisans to Enhance Workforce

The Ondo State Government has certified 500 young artisans in various technical and vocational trades to strengthen the state's skilled workforce, enhance productivity, and create economic growth pathways. The beneficiaries received free trade test certificates through a program organized by the Ondo State Board for Adult, Technical and Vocational Education in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and the German Centre for Migration and Development.

At the flag-off ceremony in Akure, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by Secretary to the State Government Taiwo Fasoranti, emphasized the importance of technical and vocational skills for economic expansion. He stated that certification provides artisans with evidence of competence, boosting their employability.

Minister of Labour and Employment Muhammadu Maigari, represented by Ondo State Controller Olanike Mogboruko, noted the increasing demand for certified technical professionals in emerging industries. Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Vocational and Technical Education Tayo Oluyi highlighted the program's goal to improve artisans' employability through recognized certifications.
