Ondo State Distributes N400M Relief to Attack Victims

The Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) commenced the distribution of N400 million in relief materials to victims of an alleged attack by naval personnel on three communities in Ilaje Local Government Area in October last year. The attack reportedly resulted in the destruction of properties worth millions of naira and displaced residents.

During the distribution event at Igbokoda headquarters, OSOPADEC Executive Chairman Biyi Poroy emphasized the need for patience among the affected communities while engaging with military personnel. The relief materials, which include mattresses, foodstuff, washing machines, and household items, aim to alleviate the suffering of the affected people.

Governor expressed concern over the situation and approved the N400 million for direct expenditure to facilitate tangible interventions. Dr.

Ola Judah, Chairman of the OSOPADEC Palliative Committee, noted the exercise's deliberate impact and mentioned ongoing projects, including the construction of housing and rehabilitation of schools.
