Ondo State Launches 2024-2025 OSOPADEC Scholarships

The Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has officially commenced its 2024-2025 scholarship and bursary program to support students from oil-producing communities. The announcement was made via OSOPADEC's official Facebook page on Tuesday.

The Executive Chairman, Olabiyi Poroy, expressed gratitude to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and stakeholders for their support, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a cordial relationship with student bodies for the success of the initiative. The program aims to increase female participation by allocating three out of five scholarship slots to female students.

It also introduces specialized scholarships for first-class students in science and engineering disciplines, aiming to cultivate highly skilled professionals in the region. The program is merit-based, with strict measures against falsification of information.

Eligible applicants include full-time students from recognized tertiary institutions and postgraduate students, with specific documentation required for application. The initiative aligns with the government's educational priorities and aims to alleviate financial pressures on students.
