Father Arrested for Burning Daughter Over Bed-Wetting

In Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, a father identified as Amo Paul Unaun has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly burning his 10-year-old daughter's private parts with a hot pressing iron as punishment for bed-wetting. The incident was reported to the police, leading to a preliminary investigation that revealed the severity of the girl's injuries.

She was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owo for medical treatment. The police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody, and the case has been transferred to the gender unit for further discreet investigation.

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, condemned the act, describing it as cruel, inhuman, and completely unacceptable.
