Ondo Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Suspect

On April 10, 2026, police in Ondo State successfully rescued a kidnap victim and arrested a suspect in a coordinated operation. The victim was abducted at night by three armed men in Ipesi Akoko, who attempted to escape while inflicting head injuries on their captor.

The police, led by Ahmadu, acted promptly based on credible information provided by the victim, which allowed them to trace and arrest the suspect, who was later found at Obasanjo Motor Park in Isua. The suspect reportedly confessed to participating in the crime.

The rescued victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the suspect was transferred to the anti-kidnap unit for further investigation and prosecution. Ondo Commissioner of Police, Adebowal Lawal, commended the public for their timely information and emphasized the importance of community collaboration in tackling criminal activities, reaffirming the police's commitment to combat kidnapping and violent crime across the state.
