Ondo Police Arrest Suspects for Abducting Traffic Officer

The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of suspects involved in a series of traffic-related crimes, including the abduction of a traffic officer. The incident took place on April 3, 2026, when traffic officer Kehind Oliniju attempted to intercept a vehicle driven by Abraham Olopad and Emmanuel Taiwo for disobeying a traffic light at the Cathedral Junction in Akur.

The suspects fled the scene, taking the officer with them. Following an alarm raised by the officer, a police patrol team from the Fanibi Division responded swiftly, intercepting the vehicle at the Winner Chapel Junction along Ondo Road.

The officer was safely rescued, and the suspects were taken into custody along with the vehicle involved in the abduction. The police statement was issued by DSP Abayomi Jimoh, highlighting the prompt action of the patrol team.
