Ondo Principals Demand Enhanced School Security Measures

Secondary school principals in Ondo State, represented by the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), have called for increased security personnel in schools to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and facilities. The President of ANCOPSS in Ondo State, Aminu Olugbenga, made this appeal during a press conference in Akure, highlighting inadequate security as a significant challenge facing public schools.

He also pointed out the need for more ICT teachers and support staff, such as laboratory attendants and library assistants, to address gaps in educational resources. Olugbenga commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's administration for its initiatives in the education sector, including the recruitment of teachers and the rehabilitation of schools, which have alleviated long-standing manpower shortages.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, parents, and communities to enhance educational development in the state, asserting that investment in education is crucial for societal progress.
