Ogun Police Enhance Security for School Resumption

As schools resumed for the 2026/27 academic session, the Ogun State Police Command increased security measures to ensure the safety of students and teachers. This decision followed a distress call regarding an armed gang robbery targeting students in their hostel in the Eruku/Agbon community.

Police operatives responded promptly, foiling the robbery and arresting two suspects, while others escaped. During the incident, the gang forced a victim to transfer N200,000 to an account and stole items including 11 smartphones and a laptop.

The police successfully recovered the stolen items and are actively pursuing the fleeing gang members and the account owner linked to the money transfer. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni reassured students and the public, providing toll-free lines for reporting suspicious activities.

He emphasized the importance of interagency collaboration for effective intelligence sharing and security initiatives, during a courtesy visit from Ganiyu Oladele, the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
