Ondo State Enhances School Security with Police, Amotekun

The Ondo State government has implemented heightened security measures in anticipation of the resumption of schools, deploying personnel from the Ondo State Police Command and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun. This initiative aims to assure parents, students, and school authorities of adequate protection, especially in border communities and isolated areas deemed vulnerable to criminal activities.

The Commissioner of Police for Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, stated that the Police command has deployed its School Protection Squad across the state to provide security coverage around schools, ensuring a safe environment for teaching and learning. He also mentioned the intensification of patrols, visibility policing, and intelligence-led operations to prevent criminal activities and respond promptly to security threats.

Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the commander of Amotekun Corps, confirmed that the agency has made necessary security arrangements to protect students and the school community, emphasizing proactive measures against prevailing security threats.
