Ondo State Signs N900M Deal for Electric Buses and Stations

The Ondo State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ADMINSERV for the deployment of five electric buses valued at N900 million and the installation of charging stations. Each bus costs N180 million, and the charging stations will be set up at selected bus stops in Akure, with plans to extend to other local government areas.
Olumuyiwa Ogunyemi, Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Transport, stated that this initiative aims to provide an alternative to petrol-powered transportation and enhance electric mobility. The charging stations will serve both the project’s buses and other electric vehicle owners.
The government is also developing compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure to address rising transportation costs. Peter Nnamani, Managing Director of ADMINSERV, noted that the project would reduce monthly transportation expenses from approximately N9,000 to between N5,000 and N6,000 per user and create employment opportunities.
This project marks ADMINSERV's first initiative in Nigeria.
