Ondo Students Demand End to ASUU Strike in 14 Days

On Monday, Mayomi Adeboye, the chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for Ondo State, announced a 14-day ultimatum for Governor Aiyedatiwa to end the ongoing ASUU strike affecting state-owned universities. The announcement came during a protest in Akure, where students expressed their frustrations over the two-month industrial action.

Adeboye stated that the NANS National President had communicated with the governor, indicating plans to address the demands of ASUU, NASU, SSANU, and other unions. He emphasized the negative impact of the strike on students, citing personal stories of lost opportunities due to the prolonged closure of schools.

Folagbade Greetness, the Student Union President of AAUA, and Adekunle Samuel, President of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, echoed similar sentiments, stressing the urgency for resolution. They agreed to the government's request for two weeks to find a solution, warning that failure to do so would lead to further protests.
