Ondo Youths Demand Inclusion in Health Governance Reforms

During an event in Akure, Ondo State, on a Saturday, youth leaders emphasized the need for greater inclusion of young people in health governance reforms. The call was made as part of the final phase of the NextGen Health Governance Project, organized by Healthi Africa with support from the Nigeria Youth Future Fund.

Faysol Oluwakemi, the project lead and executive director, highlighted that youth participation in health decision-making is crucial for progress in the sector. He stressed that many young people are unaware of their rights and the impact they can have within the health system.

Adeola Joshua, a representative of the Young Medic Laboratory Scientist Forum, noted that Nigeria's healthcare system is overstretched due to population growth and welfare challenges. He urged young people to move beyond criticism and focus on providing solutions.

Catherin Ogbunjebi, a contributor to the health commission, reiterated the importance of youth engagement at the grassroots level to drive meaningful change in the community.
