Ondo Youths Criticize APC for Ignoring Court Order

Youths in Ondo State, represented by the Oodua Progress Youth League, have condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for proceeding with a congress despite a restraining order from the Federal High Court in Akure. The order, issued by Justice Toyin Adegoke, prohibited the APC from holding the congress pending the determination of a substantive suit.

The youth group expressed their displeasure through a statement by their General Secretary, Wale Abdulwaheed, emphasizing that the APC should adhere to the rule of law and respect judicial pronouncements. They warned that failure to address the issues surrounding the congress could lead to prolonged litigation and further factional divisions within the party.

Additionally, violence was reported during earlier ward congresses in the Idanre Local Government Area, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries due to disruptions by suspected political thugs.
