Ondo APC Congress Disruptions Raise Division Concerns

The recent ward congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has sparked concerns about divisions within the party. Reports indicate that the congress was disrupted by suspected hoodlums, resulting in injuries to party members and damage to vehicles.

Raphael Adetimehin, the APC chairman, was reportedly assaulted during the incident. Despite these disruptions, the congress committee led by Margaret Araruenu declared the exercise successful.

Dr. Ademola Ijabiyi, speaking at a monthly meeting of the Elder Forum in Akure, lamented the growing divisions within the party, particularly as they relate to President Bola Tinubu's re-election efforts.

He emphasized the need for the party to address these issues to avoid permanent divisions. The rift involves key figures, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.

The Elder Forum aims to support the health needs of elderly members while addressing the political crisis.
