Mudslide in Jiangxi Province Leaves One Dead, 11 Missing

A mudslide in Jiangxi Province, China, has resulted in one confirmed death and 11 individuals reported missing following torrential rainfall linked to Typhoon Saudel. The incident took place at approximately 4 a.m. local time on Saturday in Gaoping Town, Suichuan County.

Local authorities reported that the mudslide caused damage to 12 houses in the area. Emergency responders have initiated search and rescue operations for those unaccounted for, with reports indicating that more than 10 people were trapped when the landslide occurred.

The ongoing heavy rainfall associated with the typhoon continues to pose significant risks of further flooding and landslides in the affected regions. As of now, officials have not disclosed the identities of the deceased or the missing individuals, and assessments of the full extent of the damage are still underway.
