Ibrahim Idri, has disclosed that a comprehensive investigation is underway following reports of unusual illnesses circulating on social media. The ministry responded swiftly to concerns raised by a father who posted a video about the illness affecting his household.

Dr. Idri emphasized the commitment of Governor Moham Umaru Bago's administration to safeguard the health of Niger residents and ensure thorough investigations of unexplained deaths.

The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has begun training health officials to strengthen disease outbreak preparedness and response. The suspected case of diphtheria has been reported in the Fadkp area of Minna, prompting health officials to trace contacts within the affected community and ensure children complete their routine immunization schedules.
