IED Explosion in Lagos Market Injures One, Police Respond

An explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) occurred under a vehicle in a market located in the Commercial Area of Mushin, Lagos, on Monday morning. The Lagos State Police Command, represented by Commissioner Mr.

Fatai Tijani, confirmed that the device detonated when the vehicle's engine started, resulting in one injury. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the explosion, police deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to conduct a thorough sweep of the area, which was cordoned off for safety. Tijani reassured the public that no additional explosives were discovered and urged residents to remain calm and resume normal activities.

Mr. Tajudeen Faronbi, a community member, noted that the incident occurred around 6:00 AM, shortly after morning prayers, and described the swift police response that helped prevent further panic in the community.
