Fatal Explosion at DICON's Kaduna Factory: One Dead, Several Injured

An explosion at the Defence Industries Corporation Nigeria (DICON) Ordnance Factory in Kaduna resulted in one fatality and injuries to several staff members. The incident, caused by the detonation of expired explosive materials in the disposal pit, led to the death of one person and the hospitalization of others.

The Director General of DICON, Major General Babatunde Ibrahim Alaya, has initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of the explosion. The incident occurred due to the presence of expired materials, including Ammonia Nitrates and Primer Caps, exceeding their lifespan in the production storage bunker.

The Defense Headquarters extended condolences to the deceased's family and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
