Nenadi Usman Asserts Only Her Faction of Labour Party Will Contest 2027 Elections

Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairperson of a faction within the Labour Party, declared that only her faction would feature on the 2027 ballot during an interview on Arise Television. She highlighted the Independent National Electoral Commission's recognition of her faction's leadership, preventing the involvement of Julius Abur's group in party activities.

Usman stressed a peaceful approach to the leadership crisis and stated that the party's National Executive Council would decide the next steps, including a meeting with senior electoral officials and the former Abia State Governor, Alex Otti. She clarified that INEC does not acknowledge any other leadership within the party, emphasizing a united front to organize congresses at the ward and national levels.
